What gas creates a pink color when excited?

I have a flourescent bulb that is pink, not white? what gas would cause this?

What gas creates a pink color when excited?
It is not the gas inside, it is the phosphor coating of the tube, most likely a calcium compound. See the link for a very long listing of the types used (under the "Fluorescent lamps" section, near the end) and the color they emit.
Reply:Its most likely the glass tubing around the light
Reply:Helium, I think.
Reply:I don't know the name of the gas but I have it inside me ,and when I let some out around people I get funny looks and turn red.
Reply:neon
