How do you get Salvage title on your pink slip?

If it is stolen and subsequently recovered, does it become automatically salvaged eventhough damage was only on the ignition? How does pink slip get a salvage title?

How do you get Salvage title on your pink slip?
only salvage if insurance co totals it.
Reply:There is no such thing as an "automatic salvage title". Generally if a vehicle is damaged to the point where repairs are more than the worth of the car, and insurance totals the vehicle but the owner wants to keep it, a salvage title is issued for the vehicle to protect any subsequent buyers.
Reply:I think you are confused regarding titles. A "pink slip" is a slang term for a title. A salvage/rebuilt title, is one where the vehicle received 60% or more damage, during one event. It would not automatically be a salvage title just because it was stolen, the ignition is not enough damage to cause it to become salvage/rebuilt. You do want to make sure the stolen status has been removed from the record.
Reply:The only wy to get a salvage title is you have to be the owner if you have a lien against it .It would be up to the bank or financial dept you deal with.Salavage has to b inspected by State Highway Patrol, this is is se that you didn't use stolen parts to repair your car
