Does a medium pink for walls and black furniture go well together?

i was going to get white, but everyone thinks its too 'little girly'. i tend to agree since i am in college but I dont know. I want it to look grown up! But at the same time I want it to look good in my room and my carpet is dark brown so I want to make sure everything matches nicely. So what do you think? I have my heart set on pink. So I need to decide on furniture color! Please help!

Kinda brings to mind Pepto-Bismol or something!





I think pale pink (NOT baby-pink, but more of a grey/pink) with black would look elegant and sophisticated ... dark pink with black could be very dramatic ... bright (hot) pink and black would be ... well, it would be really cool, but you'd get tired of it pretty quick!





In any case, yeah, black and pink really do work nicely together. If you haven't yet decided on a paint color, you could find a fabric element for the room (bedding, curtains, even a rug) that includes a pink that you love, and use that shade of pink for your walls.

Reply:I think the all black furniture is a bit much. A single piece of black is thought to be a designing necessity though as it does bring the colors of a room into focus. dorm room is very small usually, so any color will fill the room. A very light pink wall with the brown carpet, white ceiling, black desk, computer table with a puce bedspread and curtain. White trim on the wall (baseboards, door and frame, window frame, etc. I think this would be lovely, chic and feminine.

I don't know but I wonder if two different shades of pink for the walls might look nice ? Now this is really iffy but....How about some mint green/brown accessories here and there ?
Reply:Black would go better with the pink %26amp; brown. However white goes with everything. You could change the handles to brown (not pink, too young). You could also add a runner to the main dresser with the above colors. Good luck
Reply:Pink walls and medium brown furniture. Black furniture and a brown carpet would clash. If you can, make the walls bright pink! (hot pink could get overwhelming. :P )

I recommend black or chocolate brown leather (for things like sofa's).

Reply:God no... it would look like the beginnings of a liquorish all-sort...Also you wouldn't be able to mix many other accenting colours in...
Reply:Yes, I like the pink and black idea. Add splashes of white or even a little yellow for drama.
