Speed Channel has a program called "Pinks" and it refers to car owners drag racing for their vehicle's title, which in California is colored pink and is commonly called a pink slip. In all of the states I have lived in, the car titles are white or green. Hence the tv show is derived by Californians and does not have much reference to other states......

Reply:None, not even California any longer. They have rainbow colored titles now. But in wayback time, the title was indeed a pink slip of paper, and we would occasionally race for pinks.

Reply:don't know why they call them pinks. probably back in the day when everyone use to drag race on the weekends the titles where pink i am not sure. i know back in the day from the late 50's to the early 70's people would race for pinks which was the title.
