My watermelon is pink instead of red. Is it safe to eat?

When I cut into the seeded watermelon, the "meat" was pink instead of the usual red.

It should be fine. The color changes by the amount of water that was in the watermelon while it was growing. A lighter color just means that it did not have as much water as a red one.
Reply:It will be good as long as the melon is not mushy.

Man, watermelon sounds so good right now!!!!!! Care to share?
Reply:watermelon does sound good. did you bring enough for everyone?? It is fine. Watermelon doesn't go "bad" unless it is mushy, you can eat it.
Reply:Depends some aren't as bright or rich in color check if it smells off or funny its no good or feel abit of the meat between your fingers if its floury or grainy better chuck it out trust me you dont want to risk bad fruit in your system (not that it'll be in there for long)
Reply:Albino watermelon
Reply:Yes, of course it's safe.
Reply:yes it is safe to eat. Some brands of watermelon have pink flesh as aposted to red so enjoy
Reply:yeah, it is okay, but i have found that the redder it is...... the better it tastes!
