Why is pink chicken bad but pink duck good?

Why is it that you are not allowed to eat pink chicken but pink duck is OK?


This confuses me because they are both poultry and I thought that all poultry should be thoroughly cooked?

chicken can contain salmonella, whereas duck does not contract it. Its not a good idea to eat any meat undercooked, its a risk you take. Even with beef! I eat my duck slightly underdone, because its more tender that way.
Reply:duck is a much darker meat, i think it's more to do with the colour of the meat as you have to cook pork and veal properly too!!!
