SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOU NEED CEILING TILES!!!!
Reply:try putting in a drop ceiling
Reply:If it is possible, have a false ceiling.

Make it with anything.

Or paint it.

BTW, maybe pink is a warm color to have around. From Feng Shui point of view.

You could take view away from ceiling by decorating well and in attractive colors.

Just ideas .
Reply:Badcock is correct. If you plan on keeping the plastic for a long time, I'd even nail wood slats @ 16 or 24" on center to help supporting any sags.
Reply:The "pink" stuff has to be covered in plastic (6 mil Vapor Barrier) sealed at overlaps and wall outlets with accoustical sealer and Sheetrock (5/8 for ceiling, 1/2 inch for walls) must be applied

This is a building code rule, to contain Fire.
Reply:A drop ceiling.
Reply:We put a drop ceiling in our basement in our last home but not that commercial foamy look. Home Depot had many choices. We chose one that resembled an old fashioned tin ceiling. It looked great and we had access to electrical and plumbing if we needed it.
Reply:If you are wanting to keep the basement unfinished while preserving the integrity of the insulation, use plastic sheeting(the kind that comes in rolls, and is usually 4-8 mils thick) that you can buy for 7 or 8 bucks at any hardware store.

You simply unroll it, and then staple it to the floor joists. This will cover it and protect it easily and cheap.

Edit: BTW bob shark is right in that the plastic will not meet fire code, but from a redneck point of view...........
Reply:do have a favorite band or famous person. poster,
