How could I dye my hair with a vibrant pink or blue color?

I've always wanted to add pink or blue or even purple streaks to my hair, by my stylist keeps telling me if she does it with her Paul Mitchel color, it'll only last for 2 weeks .... how can I do it myself with longer lasting results?

Going the hair dye route, you'd bleach streaks into your hair and then use pink or blue semipermanent hair dye. You can use manic panic, special effects, or fudge. Or you could go old school and dye it with kool-aid after your bleach it. :o)

Reply:2 words.....Manic. Painic. They make a bleaching kit that is safe to use with their colors (which are amazing and last forever and a half) I'd tried other brands (punky color) and the blue...definitely turned green on me!
