Why are my Cosmopolitans a pale pink when I make them at home? Do I need to add something?

I love Cosmos, but when I make them at home, they are a pale pink. When you get them at a bar/restaurant, they are a pretty red. What am I forgetting to add? They taste the same.

What on earth is "Man in a Box" talking about? Cranberry is in *both* a cape cod and a cosmo. Grenadine is in neither. lol.

Edited to add - MIB's response was deleted, I assume because he realized his error. But, he didn't have to neg everyone for his mistake. How petty.

We can't really tell you what you are forgetting if you don't tell us how you are making it. Chances are you aren't using enough cranberry juice in proportion to the other ingredients.

A Comso contains:

2 parts Vodka to

One part:

Triple Sec

Cranberry Juice

and a good squeeze or 1/2 part Lime Juice
Reply:Where I tend bar, we use a little Chambord in ours...that will give it the deep color and a good taste.

And it is cranberry, not grenadine.
Reply:The cranberry juice they use at bars is mostly made of cranberrys. The juice you probably have been using is a cranberry juice cocktail. It is made up of other ingredients besides cranberrys. Look at your juice label. You can find 100% cranberry juice in the specialty juices aisle at the store.

Man is wrong, it is cranberry juice, he must not have ever worked in a bar.
Reply:They probably add more cranberry juice. Normally I find the opposite, i put too much cranberry and they put too little. It all depends on your taste.
Reply:They probably just add more cranberry juice at the bars.
