Is pink the pink styroam insulation ok for my garage?

The one outside wall in my garage is aluminum siding on the outside, the inside wall has the the black board(not sure name) %26amp; the 2X4 studs without insulation. I am wandering if I can use the pink styrofoam insulation to insulate this wall by cutting %26amp; gluing it between the studs or do I have to use the pink fibreglass insulation?

I would go with the rigid foam insulation. You'll get an R value of 7 or so which will help. No sense in going all out trying to insulate a garage since there is so much air infiltration.

Just keep in mind that if you do use kraft-faced insulation, you will need to cover it with gypsum board. Especially in a garage (think fire hazard).
Reply:Can you use it? Sure, but it won't give the same amount of r-value the fiberglass insulation provides. You'll have a better insulated garage with the fiberglass and be happier with the results.
Reply:Yes. However the insulating value or R factor is not as high. The higher the R factor the more money you save on heating and cooling.
