What is the pink developed around my horse's eyes?

This morning my white horse shows about an inch of pink around her eyes that's not been there in the past. I've had her 5 years. It looks sore. She's also flapping her lips.

You should probably have your vet take a look at it. Pink around the eyes could be a sign of infection or sickness :(.
Reply:white on horses gets sun burned because of the pink skin underneath. You can get sun block for this.
Reply:Appaloosas sometimes develop pink skin as they age and an all white horse could be a few spot Appaloosa.

If it looks sore, it could be sunburn or something that a vet should check out.

Flapping lips is usually just a harmless habit.
Reply:Definitely call the vet...also could be sunburn or even early melanoma because of the white horse, or could be allergy to something new. Good luck.
