How do I Fix my white clothes that turned pink?

My clothes recently turned pink when I put it in the washer and was wondering how I could fix it? I heard you could bleach it or something to turn it back white and was wondering if this will work? What type of bleach should I get and if bleach dont work what will? Thanks.

How do I Fix my white clothes that turned pink?
It depends on what your clothes are made of. If you're referring to nice shirts or sweaters, don't use bleach on them. They will turn yellow and never be the same. But you can use bleach on cotton underwear, undershirts and socks.

You can try soaking the clothes in Oxiclean, or try the Rit Color Remover.
Reply:You could try soaking in bleach (but then you need to worry that a chlorine bleach could yellow it). The people who make dyes for clothing (Rit Dye) also make a Color Remover that is supposed to get an old color out before trying to change the color. That is very powerful but doesn't cause yellowing.
Reply:I know there have been a couple of answers %26amp; they are right. But, if bleach doesn't work there is a dye remover that will! Look in any store that sales dye, it will be there!
Reply:Go on the laundry aisle or wherever the clothes dyes are sold, and I think the name of the stuff is "Rit". There are different colors, and they have one for whites. Try this, I used to put this in our laundry instead of bleach because of my daughter's sensitive skin, and it got rid of the stains on her white clothes.

Also, Oxy clean works well to remove artificial color from clothes, this may help also.

If not, plain bleach may help, but too much bleach will thin the garments and they'll look old and raggedy quickly.

Really put too much bleach, and it will eat the clothes.
Reply:Bleach is bleach. And, it plays hell on clothes, especially large amounts, which is what you'll need to change the color back to white.

Hint: wash colored clothes in cold water and whites in hot water. If colored clothes are new (1st wash), wash with similar colors or by themselves.

Blue jeans will turn everything blue and red shirts will...
Reply:If the clothes are cotton or polyester, liquid bleach like Clorox, added to the washing machine's water (along with detergent) may restore most of them to whiteness. Follow the package directions and measure, no guessing.

However, some artificial fibers hold dye really well and will remain pink. Nylon (in many bras and panties) will not let go of all the pink, even with bleach. I know this because I accidentally tinted a load mint green. I'm still wearing green underwear!
Reply:If you have already dried them in the dryer the color is probably "set" into them

I still would try a cup and a half of bleach and run them through again without anything red or pink in with them
Reply:Next time, don't wash something red in with your whites.

Anyway, use bleach (any brand) and re-wash your whites.

It may take a few times and some may never to back to white.
Reply:Wash them with bleach and more laundry detergent.

If you have already dried them you are out of luck...
