What is the point of those pink erasers on the back of pencils, that make your paper all pink?

On a very important exam, you make a mistake, and you turn your pencil around and rub out the mistake. But instead you are left with this bright pink mark. Whats the point of those erasers?

What is the point of those pink erasers on the back of pencils, that make your paper all pink?
Because they use cheap, crappy material to make the erasers. Its not that expensive to buy a better quality eraser, you know!
Reply:i used to work in a stationary shop and i think its because they know they werent good enough to compete with bic and couldnt come up with a decent eraser so they thought stuff it we'll keep it just to p*ss people off and still make money off people that dont know about it... the other bad part about them is when you use the eraser 9 times out of ten it will break off from the pencil... dont worry i have sympathy for u.... :)
Reply:the componies that make them use cheap products to make their erasers so thats why they dont work good
Reply:Usually their cheap pencils
Reply:????????
Reply:I think you're supposed to chew on them.
Reply:actually these pink like stuff is just for the beauty of the pencil without them u wont like it i guess...they r not meant to erase...u know most of the companies which manufacture pencils also do manufacture erasers...so u got my point that they are not meant to erase something but just for a beauty to the pencil

hope u got my point
