What is the pink sauce in chinese resteraunts called?

I'm just trying to figure out if I can make it at home but I don't know what the heck it's called other than pink sauce which get me nowhere on an internet search.

What is the pink sauce in chinese resteraunts called?
it's their version of sweet and sour sauce...duck sauce i do believe is what it's called but i'm not sure
Reply:if your from oregon its an oregon restaurant only sauce that we call pink sauce lol. otherwise its usually a shrimp sauce, sweat and sour, or plum sauce. Report It

1/4 c sugar


1/4 c vinagar


1 1/4 cup salad oil


2 T dried hot mustard


1 cup ketchup


1 egg (or equivalent of egg substitute if you don't want to eat raw egg)


Mix all ingredients together, add the egg last.


We call it "Chin Sauce" or "Shrimp Sauce"
